Others, first of all, tell a story that spans centuries. It is in this spirit that <strong>Terre dei Cavalieri<\/strong> took part in <em>Vini d&#8217;Abbazia<\/em>, the event dedicated to wine born in the shadow of abbeys, monasteries and commanderies: a heritage that, since the Middle Ages, has safeguarded grape varieties and knowledge that would otherwise have been lost.<\/p>\n<h2>Vini d&#8217;Abbazia 2026, at the Abbey of Fossanova<\/h2>\n<p>The 2026 edition took place from <strong>12 to 14 June<\/strong> in the extraordinary <strong>Abbey of Fossanova<\/strong>, in Priverno (Latina): one of the most important examples of Cistercian architecture in Italy, consecrated in 1208. Among its Gothic naves, the cloister and the refectory, tasting stands, master classes and talks explored the ancient bond between spirituality, landscape and wine.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/terredeicavalieri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/03_masterclass-1.jpg\" alt=\"Master class in the refectory of the Abbey of Fossanova\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Castello di Magione, our estate in Umbria<\/h2>\n<p>Representing Terre dei Cavalieri was <strong>Castello di Magione<\/strong>, on the <strong>Colli del Trasimeno<\/strong>, in Umbria. The castle \u2014 whose origins date back to the 12th century \u2014 was born as a place of welcome and care for pilgrims and has been tied for centuries to the <strong>Sovereign Military Order of Malta<\/strong>. Around its walls, vines and olive trees have always accompanied the life of the community.<\/p>\n<p>From its vineyards come the wines of the <strong>Colli del Trasimeno DOC<\/strong> \u2014 above all <strong>Grechetto<\/strong> and <strong>Sangiovese<\/strong> \u2014 the expression of a land where caring for the earth is, before a craft, an act of devotion.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/terredeicavalieri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/04_chiostro-1.jpg\" alt=\"Wine tasting in the cloister of the Abbey of Fossanova\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>A shared heritage<\/h2>\n<p>Bringing the wines of Castello di Magione to Vini d&#8217;Abbazia meant rediscovering the common roots of many estates that, like ours, safeguard a history made of religious and chivalric orders, of landscapes shaped by human hands, and of bottles that are, above all, memory.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Every glass shared over these three days was a story: that of a wine which crosses the centuries and still speaks to the present.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Thank you to everyone we met between the cloister and the refectory of the Abbey of Fossanova.
