And wines that, even before that, tell a story spanning centuries. It was in this spirit that <strong>Terre dei Cavalieri<\/strong> took part in <em>Vini d&#8217;Abbazia<\/em>, the event dedicated to wine born in the shadow of abbeys, monasteries and commanderies: a heritage that, since the Middle Ages, has preserved grape varieties and knowledge that would otherwise have been lost.<\/p>\n<h2>Vini d&#8217;Abbazia 2026, at the Abbey of Fossanova<\/h2>\n<p>The 2026 edition took place from <strong>12 to 14 June<\/strong> at the extraordinary <strong>Abbey of Fossanova<\/strong>, in Priverno (LT): one of the most important examples of Cistercian architecture in Italy, consecrated in 1208. Between the Gothic naves, the cloister and the refectory, tasting stands, masterclasses and conversations on the ancient bond between spirituality, landscape and wine followed one another.<\/p>\n<p><picture><source type=\"image\/avif\" srcset=\"https:\/\/terredeicavalieri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/03_masterclass.avif 1x\"><source type=\"image\/webp\" srcset=\"https:\/\/terredeicavalieri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/03_masterclass.webp 1x\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/terredeicavalieri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/03_masterclass.jpg\" alt=\"Masterclass in the refectory of the Abbey of Fossanova\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/picture><\/p>\n<h2>Castello di Magione, our Umbrian estate<\/h2>\n<p>Representing Terre dei Cavalieri was <strong>Castello di Magione<\/strong>, on the <strong>Colli del Trasimeno<\/strong>, in Umbria. The castle \u2014 whose origins date back to the 12th century \u2014 was built as a place to welcome and care for pilgrims and has been linked for centuries to the <strong>Sovereign Military Order of Malta<\/strong>. Within its walls, vines and olive trees have always accompanied the life of the community.<\/p>\n<p>Its vineyards produce the <strong>Colli del Trasimeno DOC<\/strong> wines \u2014 above all <strong>Grechetto<\/strong> and <strong>Sangiovese<\/strong> \u2014 the expression of a land where caring for the soil is, before anything else, an act of dedication.<\/p>\n<p><picture><source type=\"image\/avif\" srcset=\"https:\/\/terredeicavalieri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/04_chiostro.avif 1x\"><source type=\"image\/webp\" srcset=\"https:\/\/terredeicavalieri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/04_chiostro.webp 1x\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/terredeicavalieri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/04_chiostro.jpg\" alt=\"Tasting in the cloister of the Abbey of Fossanova\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/picture><\/p>\n<h2>A shared heritage<\/h2>\n<p>Bringing the wines of Castello di Magione to Vini d&#8217;Abbazia meant rediscovering the common roots of many places that, like ours, hold a history made of religious and chivalric orders, landscapes shaped by human hands, and bottles that are, above all, memory.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Every glass shared over these three days was a story: that of a wine crossing the centuries and still speaking to the present.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Thank you to everyone who met us between the cloister and the refectory of the Abbey of Fossanova.
