Art, trekking, yoga and much more for a weekend centred on taste and sustainability in wine
Cantine Aperte turns thirty, with a packed programme of initiatives and events for all wine enthusiasts.
This event was created to foster direct contact between wine enthusiasts (and the curious) and producers, and consists of tastings and tours through the vineyard and cellar, to discover the secrets of winemaking and ageing.
There were many events across the 19 participating regions — including concerts, photography exhibitions, wine trekking, cooking classes and street food — which gave a major boost to the recovery of food and wine tourism. Looking ahead to this recovery, Movimento Turismo Vino will be promoting an important awareness campaign on sustainability and mindful wine consumption, two major challenges for the wine tourism world, in collaboration with WIM.
“All the wineries showed great enthusiasm and willingness in organising the event – explains Nicola D’Auria, president of Movimento Turismo Vino – and there is no better way to celebrate the thirtieth edition of Cantine Aperte. As a Movement, we are all proud – D’Auria continues – of the commitment shown in promoting sustainable and responsible wine consumption, topics of great interest today, on which we want to be a point of reference”.
So, a packed programme of training and educational initiatives ran alongside the entertainment and tasting events during the last weekend of May across the Italian regions. Nineteen Italian regions took part: Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Emilia Romagna, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lazio, Marche, Molise, Piedmont, Lombardy, Sardinia, Tuscany, Trentino Alto Adige, Veneto, Puglia, Sicily, Aosta Valley and Umbria, for a total of over 590 wineries.
Castello di Magione also opened its doors, on Sunday 29 May 2022, at the Castello di Magione winery located in the Capannelle area on Via dell’Albaneto, to celebrate the Cantine Aperte 2022 event – 30th edition – together with you.
During the day, visitors were able to tour the winemaking cellar of Castello di Magione, on Via dell’Albaneto, to learn about the estate’s winemaking techniques and wines.
After purchasing the AIRC glass, visitors were able to taste the following wines free of charge:
ROSATO BELFIORE
GRECHETTO
SANGIOVESE
Tasting stations were also available for the wines of the other wineries in the Sagrivit group.

No event would be complete without a musical touch, thanks to a concert by Principi di Galles, running until sunset and the close of the event.
